These horses are my tribute to the appaloosa. Specifically, the horses killed after the capture of Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce tribe. These are those horses back from hell- tails and ears burned off, bare steel and raw emotion, in mid leap.

The horses are not in a natural pose- they are falling through free air, on their way to eternity. Their shapes are inspired by the appaloosas of my youth, cave paintings of spotted horses, and what a horse feels like.
They represent the horse primeval- proud, strong, free, eternal.

They're built from waterjet cut steel sheets, folded and welded up by hand. We drew the pattern facet by facet in AutoCAD. You have no idea.

We added ears as a customization to a little horse, and here's what that looks like. Kickass.

A movie!
